Some important questions we need to ask ourselves!
Dear Friends,
If you studied the Sunday school notes in yesterday’s devotional you learned that the idea that sin has died or can no longer attack us is wishful thinking, not biblical truth! In the light of that, let us ask ourselves the questions in today’s devotional. God bless you.
Because of Calvary,
John Janney
Romans 6:12-13 (ESV)
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
AM I A SOLDIER OF THE CROSS
“Am I a soldier of the cross?
A follower of the Lamb?
And shall I fear to own His cause
Or blush to speak His name?
Must I be carried to the skies
On flowery beds of ease,
While others fought to win the prize
And sailed through bloody seas?
Are there no foes for me to face?
Must I not stem the flood?
Is this vile world a friend to grace,
To help me on to God?
Sure I must fight if I would reign —
Increase my courage, Lord!
I’ll bear the toil endure the pain,
Supported by Thy Word.”
[Isaac Watts (1674-1748)]
