The Prodical Father    in Luke chapter 15 is a biblical portrait of God as father. Adam is called the “son of God” and his race has acted like the younger prodigal son. We see the losses of the father and ultimately his gain. The losses of the sons love, his presence and his service. But later he gained the repenting son and gained joy. This same way God is joyful as his own come to him.
