Revenge – is it worth it?
Dear Friends,
Someone once said, “Revenge is sweet – so say fools!” Today’s devotional will help you see what was meant. God bless you.

Romans 12:17-21 (ESV)
17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
“A little boy was sitting on a park bench in obvious pain. A man walking by asked him what was wrong and the young boy said, ‘I’m sitting on a bumble bee.’ The man urgently asked, ‘Then why don’t you get up?’ The boy replied, ‘Because I figure I’m hurting him more than he is hurting me!’” [The 911 Handbook, Kent Crockett, Hendrickson Publishers, 1997, p. 43 in McHenry’s Stories for the Soul compiled by Raymond McHenry, (Peabody, MA: Hendrickson Publishers, 2001), p. 117]
