Dear Friends,
It is next to impossible to know what is on another person’s mind; how much more is it impossible to know the mind of God – unless He reveal it to us. This He has done. This Sunday the pastor of the church of which I am a member shared a hymn he has written which conveys the truth in poetic form and I pass it on to you. Think it over and be so grateful to God for opening His heart to us in His Word the Bible. God bless you,

• Deuteronomy 18:15-22 (ESV)

  15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— 16 just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ 17 And the Lord said to me, ‘They are right in what they have spoken. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

“NO ONE CAN KNOW THE MIND OF GOD

“No one can know the mind of God, nor search the secret things,

Until He moves His holy lips and understanding brings.

He speaks! God thunders in His Law, convicts mankind of sin

Then God reveals His only Son in love the world to win!

No prophet or apostle dare to speak in God’s own name,

Unless His Spirit breathes through them to bring proof to the claim

That God Himself has spoken through the Spirit guided pen

To lift up Christ for all to see and offer Him to men!

No preacher, clever through he be, can raise the dead to life,

But as he opens up the Word it pierces like a knife.

The heart once still is made to beat, the stone is rolled away,

And Jesus crucified is seen portrayed in bright array!

No sinner who in darkness bound, can come into the light,

Except the Spirit touch his eyes and grant to him new sight.

These sacred words now burn with fire, he feels the quickening rod,

He falls before the risen Lord and cries, ‘My Lord and God!’”
