It is always so, even if it doesn’t seem so!
Dear Friends,
Have you ever been in a service where someone called out “God is good!”
and the congregation replied, “All the time”? They were right, of
course, though we often don’t think that way when the something is
unpleasant. Today’s attached devotional is an example of an unpleasant
blessing which came to be recognized for what?? it was. God bless you.
Because of Calvary,

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
“In August 1921 {Franklin Delano Roosevelt)…and his family went on vacation to their summer home on the island of Campobello in New Brunswick, Canada. After an afternoon’s sail, he helped to fight a forest fire on a neighboring island, and overheated by his exertions, cooled off by swimming in a nearby lake. Shortly after swimming in the cold waters of the Bay of Fundy, Roosevelt became ill with a high temperature and pain in his back and legs which proved to be symptoms of the infectious disease, poliomyelitis…. He was never to recover the use of his legs, could not walk without heavy braces or stand without assistance… ‘Franklin’s illness’, Eleanor Roosevelt commented, ‘proved a blessing in disguise; for it gave him strength and courage he had not before. He had to think out the fundamental of living and learning the greatest of all lessons ¾ infinite patience and never ending persistence.’” [Vivian Green, The Madness of Kings, (Phoenix Mill Thrupp – Stroud – Gloucestershire, Great Britain: Sutton Publishing Limited, 2005), p. 287]
