God is great; we are not!
Dear Friends,
Some year ago a song entitled “Somebody bigger than you or I” was very
popular though not very deep. it did remind the listeners, though, that
God is great and we are not. Today’s attached devotional will help make
that even clearer. God bless you.

Psalm 33:6 (ESV)
6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
“No artist can speak to his paint and create the Mona Lisa. A sculptor would be called a lunatic for standing in front of a mountain and commanding it to turn into Mount Rushmore. Human beings cannot change the course of nature or bring things into existence by sheer talk. But God can. His voice is almighty… No human artist or inventor bring something into being from nothing. The artist has a medium through which an artistic creation is shaped or arranged. An inventor stands before a workbench and with tools and raw materials creates some now gizmo. But no artist or inventor can create a work of art or an invention by the power of his voice.” [R. C. Sproul, Enjoying God: Finding Hope in the Attributes of God, (Grand Rapids: Baker Books 2017), p. 162-163]
