He is also the Bible teacher for his church’s annual Day Camp program. Mike has been happily married to his wife, Tanya, for 22 years and has two sons, Ben, a sophomore at Lancaster Bible College, and Elijah, a high school junior. Mike enjoys watching his sons play volleyball and run track and cross country. A strategy board game geek, he enjoys playing “Small World,” “Takenoko,” and “Legends of Andor,” etc. Most importantly, he loves interacting with and sharing the gospel message and the truths of God’s Word with both children and adults.
The RiSE team travels on behalf of Clarks Summit University, making stops at locations across many states. The name RiSE comes from the words of John the Baptizer in John 3:30 and is the foundation of the team’s purpose: To see Jesus’ name (which must increase) lifted higher to rise above all other names (which must decrease). The lower case “i” in the team logo is an expression of this desire, “‘i’ must decrease.” RiSE endeavors to use music, scripture and relationships to help people realize the presence of God and to respond accordingly. In developing authentic God-centered relationships RiSE creates interest among future students by showing them how God can use Clarks Summit University to assist them in their life and global Christian leadership development.
