Do you swim with the sharks?
Romans 15:1 (ESV)
We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
“Frank Bullen, in one of his interesting sea-studies, gives a powerful and enthralling picture of the struggle which goes on amid the denizens of the deep. He points out that in the still depths of the sea an endless and merciless struggle is being waged. Day and night, without a moment’s truce, this ceaseless conflict continues, in which the strong pursue the weak, and the weak perish at the hands of the strong. The countless tribes of ocean are all devourers of one another, and from the tiniest shell-fish to the mighty leviathan of the deep, they pursue and are pursued.” [The Speaker’s Bible XIII edited by James Hastings and Edward Hastings, (Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, n.d.), p. 103]
