Today’s attached devotional gives you a prayer to echo and an assurance
to seek. And it is a glorious prayer and a blessed assurance! Meditation
on the words today until they are your own. God bless you!
Because of Calvary,
Romans 8:29-30 (ESV)
29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
“Jesu, cast a pitying eye,
Humbled at Thy feet I lie,
Fain within Thy arms would rest,
Fain would lean upon thy breast;
Thrust my hand into Thy side,
Always in this cleft abide,
Never from Thy wounds depart,
Never leave Thy bleeding heart.
Surely I have pardon found,
Grace doth more than sin abound,
God, I know, is pacified,
Thou for me, for me, hast died;
But I cannot rest herein,
All my nature still is sin,
Comforted I will not be,
Till my soul is all like Thee.”
