It’s an old saying that “he who hesitates is lost.” In today’s devotional Charles Wesley has a word for the hesitator uncovering the hidden why! God bless you.
Because of Calvary,
Matthew 10:28-30 (ESV)
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
“My Savior bids me come, Ah! why do I delay?
He calls the weary sinner home and yet from Him I stay.
What is it keeps me back, for which I cannot part?
Which will not let my Savior take possession of my heart?
Some cursed thing unknown must surely lurk within;
Some idol, which I will not own, some secret bosom-sin.
Jesus, the hindrance show which I have feared to see;
Yet let me now consent to know what keeps me out of Thee.”
